Maryland foreclosures bounce back
A state law slowed down foreclosures in Maryland over the past 2 years, but filings are now up by 250%. Rising prices have also made lenders more eager to take back properties. (WAMU)
Streamlining SmarTrip
In an effort to smooth bus boarding, Metro has made some tweaks to the onboard payment system. You can reload cards with only two taps, and a tone will alert you when you balance drops below $1.60. (Post)
Next stop, Roanoke
Just before leaving office, Governor McDonnell signed an agreement to extend Amtrak’s Lynchburg service to to Roanoke. Trains will run by fall 2017. (News & Advance)
