Huge increase in biking to Metro
The number of cyclists riding bikes to Metro train stations has seen a 50% increase over the last 5 years. The increase is likely due to increase in biking overall and adoption of Capital Bikeshare. (PlanItMetro)
WMATA didn’t talk to MoCo

DC’s broken parking meter problem
The DC Department of Transportation received over 175,000 broken parking meter complaints in 2012 but issued 7.3 parking tickets per minute, bringing in over $92 million in tickets. (DCist)

With the March on Washington 50th anniversary celebrations in full swing, Metro recorded 453,000 trips on Saturday. Federal agencies have been encouraged to allow employees to telecommute or take leave this week in anticipation of large crowds and traffic. (WTOP, Post)
