Streetcar almost done
H Street’s construction will be “substantially complete” by June 30, and streetcars running by late 2012. DDOT needs to add power substations, buy cars that support partial wireless operation, and work out final details with Amtrak. (Housing Complex)

Pentagon fudged on BRAC numbers
The DoD Inspector General found that the Army’s report on the traffic and environmental impacts of the BRAC move to the Mark Center was seriously flawed. Alexandria and Fairfax County are being encouraged to sue the Pentagon to halt the move. (Post)
Bike thefts growing problem
Nearly 1200 bike thefts were reported last year, and many more likely unreported. In a Logan Circle condo, thieves simply walk into the building, down to the garage and right back out with stolen bikes. (Rollin’)
Mixed neighborhoods are prefered
