The Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District** in partnership with District government held the first of three planned 18th Street NW “pedestrian zones” Sunday. MTA starts demolition on old Nice-Middleton Bridge

Despite the advocacy from federal leaders and concerned citizens, the Maryland Transporation Authority has started to demolish the old Nice-Middleton Bridge. The advocate team plans to challenge the use of explosives to complete the demolition, as a way to stop progress and restart study efforts to create a bicycle and pedestrian bridge out of the original span.  (Ian Duncan / Post)  

Alexandria tries to make parking in garages more attractive

In Old Town Alexandria, many parking garages remain underutilized while motorists circle city blocks in search of on-street parking. MoCo is making progress on its bike master plan

Deanwood-based clinic closes healthcare distance gaps for pregnant people

The clinic works to meet pregnant residents of Deanwood and surrounding neighborhoods east of the Anacostia River “in the middle,” by providing care that often requires long transit rides across the District, to prevent maternal and infant mortality due to lack of access.  (DCist)  

Montgomery County wins grant to purchase hydrogen buses

Taste of Bethesda returns after pandemic hiatus
