WMATA has released its draft 2020 budget this morning. Here are some of the highlights, courtesy of Stephen Repetski:
- Expands rush hour service until 10 am and until 8:30 pm (it currently ends at 9:30 am and at 7 pm)
- $2 weekend flat fare (but no service increase)
- Yellow Line service is restored to Greenbelt (it was cut back to Mt. Vernon two years ago)
- All Red Line trains will run to Glenmont
- All trains will be eight cars in length
- All Metro SelectPasses would include unlimited bus trips and other pass prices will drop (doesn't mention eliminating the transfer fee between bus + rail though)
- Reduce Rush Hour Promise delay limit from 15 minutes to 10 minutes
