Not the DC of yore
DC residents seem pleased with DDOT’s snow removal efforts. DDOT worked all weekend to plow, and @DDOTDC responded quickly to reports of unplowed streets. Call 311 if your road still isn’t plowed.
Metro back in business
Metro has restored all rail and bus service this morning. MetroAccess remains limited. A lot of commenters thought the weekend was a big Metro failure, but I think they handled an extreme situation responsibly, even running an extra train to pick up stragglers after closing the system on Saturday. The story of the cop who pulled a gun on the snowball fight has gone national, with unfortunate results: CNN’s story claimed it was all some kind of political protest, and played up the involvement of a small group of anarchists.
