Last Tuesday, DC Council chairman Phil Mendelson announced, less than 24 hours before the only vote on DC’s budget, that he was proposing slashing funding for the streetcar. In his proposal for the DC budget, council chairman Phil Mendelson will propose lowering the streetcar’s capital funding from what Mayor Gray has proposed.
