Lunch links: Three steps forward, two steps back edition
Arlington moving toward performance parking: Arlington’s recently-approved Master Transportation Plan includes a policy of making meter prices “vary by hour and location to better match parking availability and demand.” county staff said a detailed proposal is in the works and may be approved by the County Board in December. (Infosnack HQ)… Keep reading…

Breakfast links: suburban changes edition
The official word on the I-66 deck: Infosnack HQ made some calls and found out the detailed scoop on the parking garage. One of five parking decks is free to the public, and fills up with commuters on weekdays (why can’t they charge, again?) while the others are used by Arlington Public Schools. Keep reading…

Only in Portland? Hundreds of people gathered to tear up an underutilized parking lot and replace it with a community garden. Streetfilms created a video of the festivities. My favorite part is the dancers on stilts wielding giant jackhammers. Keep reading…

This bus stops here only during full moons and days with an ‘r’ in the name
Arlington’s CommuterPageBlog has the story of a poor Metro rider who tried to connect to an Arlington bus at Court House Metro. No signs tell riders where the stop is. He eventually found the stop, but no bus; it turned out (amid some confusing signs) that this bus stopped in a totally different place on weekdays. Keep reading…
