Ryan Calder is Assistant Professor of Environmental Health and Policy at Virginia Tech. His research evaluates health impacts of engineered systems and supports the development of decision-support tools for government. Prior to entering academia, he worked as a consulting engineer and government analyst. He holds a doctorate in environmental health from the Harvard School of Public Health and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Concordia University, Canada.
