Monday, August 28:

Attend a webinar on parking reform in Montgomery County: Car-centric design goes hand-in-hand with minimum parking mandates that require people to prioritize developing parking for vehicles instead of utilizing that space for uses such as housing, retail, or parks. This required development is true even in neighborhoods that are walkable and transit-connected. Many cities across the country have proven that reducing and eliminating parking mandates has benefited them majorly. That is why Coalition for Smarter Growth and Montgomery for All are partnering to host a webinar on what Montgomery County could gain from parking reform. They will dive into the economic and environmental costs of parking mandates, and how parking reform shows real potential in alleviating those costs throughout Montgomery County.
