The Northeast Corridor (NEC) is one of the country’s busiest rail systems. This summer the Northeast Corridor Commission released “Connect NEC 2035 (C35),” a long-term vision that, if funded, would help create a more efficient, safer, and expanded rail network over the next 15 years.

Join The Eno Center for Transportation from 2 to 3 pm, Thursday, as they host a paneled discussion about C35, and how it might come to fruition. Register here.

Be a part of a District-wide clean-up effort: Spring cleaning doesn’t just have to happen in warmer weather. Join the DC Crosstown Clean-Up effort from 9 to 5 pm this Saturday as volunteers and 12 combined organizations take to cleaning over 10 miles of streets throughout four wards. You can either start from your home and end up at the nearest trash drop-off point or follow the designated route. Bags and gloves will be provided. Click for more information.

Take a bike tour; see some trails: The City of Alexandria is adding 3.6 miles of multi-use trails to its 16.1-mile network of trails, and is offering cyclists a free tour of two planned projects this Saturday beginning at 10 am. Register here for this free event sponsored by WABA.

Stepping at Franklin Park: Step Afrika!, the first professional company dedicated to the tradition of stepping, presents “Step Afrika! Reads,” a performance created to encourage young children to stay active and practice daily reading habits. This free class will be from 9:30 to 10:05 am. For more information, click here.
