The conversations we have about public transit today will shape the future of millions of people after the pandemic has subsided. Join GGWash and the Young Professionals in Transportation for a moderated discussion about the opportunities we have to elevate public transportation as an essential component of economic recovery post the COVID-19 crisis.

We will discuss the challenges our public transit systems will face in the coming months and will hear from local and national experts about the opportunities we have to help ensure that our leaders recognize the importance of public transit in building an equitable and sustainable response to the current economic crisis.

Confirmed speakers include Emiko Atherton, Vice President for Thriving Communities and Director of the National Complete Streets Coalition, and Maura Brophy, Director of Transportation and Infrastructure, for the Federal City Council. The conversation begins at 5 pm Wednesday, May 13. This discussion is free and open to the public. Register here.
