A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run
Cherlyn Ninette Bell was struck and killed on Suitland Parkway near the Irving Street SE exit ramp on Tuesday night. Advocates push for a women’s only pre-release facility
Advocates in Maryland are fighting against the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services addition of a coed re-entry facility for incarcerated people. Advocates are recommending legislation that would provide incarcerated women with a women’s only pre-release facility. Currently, these types of facilities are coed or just for men.
