Want to learn more about how to fix DC’s notoriously confounding Dave Thomas Circle intersection? Then you definitely want to attend the District Department of Transportation’s (DDOT) Open House on the Florida Avenue-New York Avenue NE Intersection and Florida Avenue NE Streetscape (2nd to H Street NE) projects. DDOT is expected to unveil:

  • The Preliminary (30%) Design of the Florida Avenue-New York Avenue NE Intersection Project (“Dave Thomas Circle”);

  • The post-construction data collection for the Florida Avenue NE Interim Safety Improvement Project, which was completed in September 2019; and

  • The Updated (65%) Design of Florida Avenue NE Streetscape Project from 2nd Street NE to H Street NE.

The meeting is from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, December 10 at New Samaritan Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall, 1100 Florida Avenue NE, and it’s open to the public. Click here for more information.

How to win better buses: Steven Higashide author of Better Buses, Better Cities: How to Plan, Run, and Win the Fight for Effective Transit, will join other transit experts to discuss his book and also how to improve transit service in the region.
