Stadium stipulations
Council Chairman Phil Mendelson reports that the city and Akridge are still “very far apart” on a price for a key piece of land for the DC United stadium. The District has until September to acquire the land. (WBJ)
DC Council leans left
The new DC Council is younger and more liberal than the last. One bill introduced on the first day of the session would cut councilmembers’ power to block city contracts. (Post)
Affordable housing shortchanged?
Montgomery County could fall short of its goal for affordable housing in 2016. County Executive Leggett said that the county faces a $200 million budget gap. (Post)
Prince George’s fights for hospital
Prince George’s is forging ahead on plans to build a new county hospital, despite governor-elect Hogan’s lack of commitment to the project. County officials hope the hospital will bring development to Largo. (Post)
