Incentives to film movies and shows can help a city, but mostly if it raises the city’s profile. Therefore, cities should try to get shows actually about their city, and negotiate for tourism ads as part of the deal. (RPUS)
Bikeshare thievery
David Garber had a CaBi bike stolen when he left it unattended for a minute. It was docked again 3 days later. There have only been about 100 thefts, and all but 15 were recovered. (Post)
GSA proposes cybersecurity campus
A GSA prospectus that has yet to be approved by the House or Senate outlines plans to build a large cybersecurity campus in the metropolitan area. GSA hopes this centralization effort will save money. (WBJ)
Corupt developer punished
Former Prince George’s real estate developer Daniel Colton was sentenced to 2 years in prison for involvement in the Jack Johnson public corruption scheme. (Post)
Alec Baldwin, bike salmon
Police stopped Alec Baldwin for biking the wrong way on 5th Avenue in New York and later arrested him for disorderly conduct. Baldwin took to Twitter to voice his displeasure. (NYT)
