All new cars in Greater Washington must be zero-emission by 2035
The District finalized regulations that will require any new vehicle registered in DC to be zero-emission starting in 2035, following similar legislation in Maryland and Virginia. The regulations will not apply to cars older than 2035 models. (Jacob Fenston / DCist)
Virginia legislators to introduce bill to extend massive Alexandria sewer tunnel project
Two Virginia General Assembly members are introducing legislation to extend the deadline for Alexandria’s RiverRenew Tunnel Program to 2026 after supply chain woes have made it unlikely for the project to finish by its original July 1, 2025 deadline. Floating pier proposed for Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg

Arlington’s office vacancy rate is starting to stabilize
Arlington’s office vacancy rate is settling at around 24% after seeing a 4% bump since the beginning of 2022. Factors behind this stabilization include more companies implementing return-to-office policies and the completion of Amazon’s new office space. Baltimore’s 28th Street redesign presents challenges and solutions to cyclists and pedestrians
Residents of Baltimore’s Remington neighborhood have seen improvements in vehicle speeds and pedestrian and cyclist access since a two-way cycletrack was installed on 28th Street in August of 2023. Bowser’s Gallery Place-Chinatown task force kicks off
DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is forming the Gallery Place-Chinatown Task Force to reimaging the two-block area consisting of Capital One Arena and Gallery Place if Monumental Sports is successful in moving the Wizards and the Capitals to Potomac Yard.
