Discuss the reality and impact of residential segregation in America: Everyone deserves to thrive in integrated, inclusive, and vibrant communities, but the impacts of residential segregation continue to prevent that reality. Policies like exclusionary zoning perpetuate segregation and continue to harm low-income communities of color through the maintenance of unequal education, policing, economic, and health systems. One of the defining features of ‘informality’ in settlements has been their lack of access to basic services. Share your thoughts on the U Street NW Bus Priority Project: The U Street NW is a historic DC corridor that has a vibrant nightlife and has seen tremendous growth in recent years. This project will propose multi-modal improvements for the U Street corridor from 16th Street NW to 9th Street NW in order to enhance transit service and reliability and improve the overall traffic safety in the area. The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will host a virtual public meeting to introduce the U Street NW Bus Priority Project, which includes bringing in Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC), residents, and other stakeholder input from the combined ANCs of 1B, 2B, and 2F to solicit more cohesive feedback along the entire project corridor. the project here.
