At-large councilmember candidates in November's general election.

Like a civically engaged Goldilocks, those voting in the District’s 2022 at-large general election this November may find themselves navigating between broad images of candidates (too vague!) and detailed questionnaires (too many words!).

We at GGWash feel your pain, and thanks to the tremendous efforts of volunteer Andrew Turner, we now have the “just right” resource: a detailed visualization showing where each DC Council at-large candidate sits on core housing, transportation, and land use issues, with data drawn from candidates’ responses to our questionnaires. Readers who followed our coverage of the primary elections in June will have seen a similar visualization before.

The following candidates responded to our questionnaire:

  • Anita Bonds (Democrat)
  • Fred E. Hill (Independent)
  • Karim D. Marshall (Independent)
  • Kenyan McDuffie (Independent)
  • Graham McLaughlin (Independent)
  • David Schwartzman (DC Statehood Green)
  • Elissa Silverman (Independent)

Below, you can see how candidates seeking the two at-large seats responded to our questionnaire in advance of the general election in November.
