Purple Line construction workers call for reinstatement of labor agreement

Proposed DC law would raise registration fees on the heaviest motor vehicles
Proposed by Ward 3 Council Member Mary Cheh, it would require owners of vehicles weighing more than 6,000 pounds to pay $500 in registration fees per year. Maryland residents can put their drivers licenses on their iPhones

Expect busy roads and street closures during this Memorial Day weekend
Regional roads and airports are expected to be busy this long weekend, despite record-high gas prices, costlier airline tickets, higher hotel rates, and an increase in Covid cases. Street closures are also expected near RFK Stadium and the National Mall for an annual event on Sunday. (Post, Post)
