The American Planning Association provides independent verification of planners’ qualifications through the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). Many planners choose to sit for the planning certification exam, but is it really worth it?

Join the GW Sustainable Urban Planning Program this Wednesday at 5 pm to gain insight into whether this is the right path for you. Our panel will discuss their own path to becoming AICP certified, how it has affected their career opportunities and how to decide if it is right for them.

Panelists include Professor Eliza Voigt, AICP, Branch Chief of Planning/NEPA at the GSA Office of Planning and Design Quality; and Professor Andrew Bernish, AICP, a planner & GIS Analyst for the Maryland State Department of Transportation (MDOT).
