Join Greater Greater Washington staff, volunteers, and friends on Thursday, March 12 from 6:30 to 9 pm at 1919 3rd St in LeDroit Park as we celebrate 12 years of thoughtful and engaging community journalism. Turn your “Main Street” into a vital urban district: Join community and business leaders on a discussion on how to “create a great urban commercial district.” This event, sponsored by the Department of Small and Local Business Development, is free and open to the public. The workshop begins at 8 am Saturday, March 7, at One Judiciary Square, 441 4th Street NW. Register for this free event.

Tuesday, March 10

Learn how trees play an integral part in creating climate resilience: The College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES), along with UDC and the USDA Northeast Climate Hub and American Forests, are hosting “Tree Canopy from Big Cities to Small Towns: A Pathway to Climate Resilience,” a workshop that “aims to dig a little deeper into shaping the creative thinking around practical tools that can be applied in local communities that encourage climate adaptation through managing tree canopies.”

The event will be held from 8 to 5 pm, Tuesday, March 10, at the University of the District of Columbia, Building 56, Student Center, Ballroom A, 4200 Connecticut Avenue NW. This workshop is free and open to the public. Click here to register.
