Your boss hates when you're late. You have to get your kid to daycare every day. You rely on the bus and Metro, but between SafeTrack, train breakdowns, smoke in tunnels, and more, you're taking a chance of delays every day. A car service costs good money, plus you still might hit traffic.

A new game from WAMU and American University's GameLab and JOLT programs, called Commuter Challenge, lets you try to make it through a week without getting fired or spending more money than you have on Uber. In the game, you live the life of a character named Edward, who lives in Prince George's County, works in a service sector job in DC, and constantly must choose between possibly unreliable transit or pricier (and still traffic-prone) car service trips.

Tip: give Bikeshare a shot. Oh, and you better hope your kid doesn't get sick.

Give it a try:
