Greater Greater Washington is turning 8! Come celebrate at our birthday party next Tuesday. Also, learn about the intersection of growth and historic preservation with Mayor Bowser and share your opinion on bus route changes in Arlington and new bike access to Vienna Metro.

GGWash birthday party: Come celebrate Greater Greater Washington’s 8th birthday on Tuesday, March 8 at 6:30 pm at Vendetta (1212 H Street). There will be a special trivia game, cake, and tons of fun! Please RSVP if you can make it!

Preservation and planning: DC is likely to grow to 800,000 people, but how? This Tuesday, March 1, historic preservationists, real estate development professionals, and community stakeholders will come together with Mayor Bowser to discuss the challenges of growth, development, and historic preservation in the city. The event will begin at 5 pm at the Howard Theater (620 T Street NW).

Buses in Arlington: In order to improve bus service in Arlington over the next decade, there’s a new proposal to work on 36 bus routes. Share your feedback on potential big changes at one of two meetings this week. The first is on Tuesday, March 1 from 5 pm to 8 pm at 909 S Dinwiddie Street and the second is on Thursday, March 3 from 4 pm to 6 pm at 1250 South Hayes Street.

Biking to the Vienna Metro: A new study will look at ways to make it easier to bike to the Vienna Metro Station. Share your thoughts on bike access at a community meeting on Wednesday, March 2 from 6 pm to 8 pm at 2900 Sutton Road in Vienna.

CaBi operator: Hear from Jay Walder, the President and CEO of Motivate, the largest bike share operator in the country, including the Capital Bikeshare, this Tuesday, March 1 at APTA Transportation Tuesday. It’s at 1666 K Street NW, and you can arrive at 5 pm for wine, cheese, and mingling. The presentation and discussion begin at 5:30 pm. RSVP requested to cowens@apta.com.
