SUV driver strikes seven-year-old in parking lot, causing life-threatening injuries
A seven-year-old boy was hospitalized with critical and life-threatening injuries after an SUV driver struck the boy in the parking lot of an Alexandria apartment complex on Saturday. Federal real estate chief talks rightsizing office space and working with DC
Elliot Doomes, the new commissioner of the GSA’s Public Buildings Service, is tasked with rightsizing a federal real estate portfolio while taking into account each agency’s unique needs and telework status. MoCo officials weigh in on state’s $21.2B capital budget for transportation
In a recent meeting with Maryland state officials on the state’s proposed $21.2B capital budget for transportation, Montgomery County councilmembers expressed, among other priorities, concern over a lack of transit investment in upcounty areas and requested the state to apply more pressure to reopen the White’s Ferry crossing on the Potomac River. Prince George’s Council approves approximately $33 million tax incentive for mixed-use project near Southern Avenue Metro station
The Prince George’s County Council has granted Petra Development the use of a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes arrangement (PILOT) to jumpstart a mixed-use development at 1503 Southern Avenue near the Southern Avenue Metro station. Improper e-scooter, bike parking create problems for UMD students with disabilities
Students with disabilities at the University of Maryland College Park (UMD) find it harder to get around when e-scooters and bikes are parked on ramps and hand railings. To address these concerns, the university recently opened a form where students can report improperly parked vehicles and announced plans to install signage and more bike racks this year to provide better parking options.
