Events: Join Georgetown for a virtual panel exploring its Master’s in Urban & Regional Planning

Georgetown University’s Master of Professional Studies in Urban & Regional Planning prepares you to solve the critical challenges facing urban communities around the world. You’ll learn from industry scholars and practitioners in the classroom while developing your skills outside of class through applied problem-solving, international travel, independent research, and networking events. Upon completing the program, you’ll have the industry knowledge and leadership skills needed to effectively and responsibly shape the communities of tomorrow.

On Thursday, November 17, from 12 pm to 1 pm, join Georgetown’s panel of distinguished faculty as they explore a wave of innovation that integrates the challenges of climate mitigation and adaptation into both existing and new urban planning practices. Meet the Better Bus Network Redesign team: Metro is hosting a Meet the Project Team event before the Metro Riders Advisors Committee from 5:30 - 6:30 pm on November 9 at WMATA Headquarters. This is an opportunity for members of the community to engage with Metro staff and the Better Bus Network Redesign consultant team about the project. The team will also have public engagement activities available for anyone that has not attended a previous event.

Learn what better bus service in Prince George’s County could look like: Join RISE Prince George’s and Coalition for Smarter Growth to help reshape bus service in Prince George’s County and the region. Our region’s transit agency, WMATA, is collaborating with Prince George’s County to redesign the bus service and prioritize buses on local roads to better serve riders and make the bus a more effective part of our transportation system. Enjoy good brews and climate news: Join the DC chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby for a tour of Right Proper’s Brookland Production House from 12:30-2:00 pm this Sunday! Learn how the brewery harnesses solar power and energy efficiency measures in its operations, and its plans to become even more sustainable. After the tour, everyone is welcome to stay for drinks and a social hour, where we can chat about climate action, the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act, and more!
