Events: How can DC’s budget impact housing and transportation? Join GGWash’s training to learn more.

Mayor Muriel Bowser’s FY23 budget will be released on March 16, 2022, and the council will begin its hearings on it on March 21. Join GGWash for a budget overview and training on March 23 at 6 pm. DC policy director Alex Baca will review some takeaways from the mayor’s budget (specific to housing and transportation), share with you what GGWash’s policy team will be asking for, and be available to workshop budget requests.

The future of housing in Cleveland Park: Cleveland Park Smart Growth, a group of residents who promote, share, and discuss urbanist and smart growth issues in DC, hosting the third of its three-part series about housing in Cleveland Park. This series will look at how neighbors and leaders can create future housing that is more inclusive, affordable, commercially vibrant, and sustainable. Learn more about the DC’s Streetscape guidelines: The National Capital Planning Commission, a federal agency that offers guidance for federal land and buildings in the region, is offering the first of two pubic meetings about the Draft Streetscape Design Guidelines, a document that informs “the placement and characteristics of streetscape elements such as trees, landscapes and plantings, stormwater management, pavement materials, and sidewalks” in DC from 12:30 pm to 1:30 March 23. The Draft Streetscape Design Guidelines are available for public review and comment through May 11, 2022. Click here to register for the meeting and get additional information.
