Virginia Senate majority leader says Youngkin will need to compromise in order for arena proposal to move forward
Virginia Senate Majority Leader Scott Surovell pushed back on the likelihood that Governor Youngkin’s proposed Potomac Yard arena would move forward if the governor introduced it in a budget amendment. The governor’s budget resubmission must have a simple up or down vote without amendments, and Surovell said the governor will need to come to the table for discussion and compromise, which would be more feasible in a special session of the legislature. Potential arrests, increased fines take effect today for Metro fare evasion
Starting today, people who avoid paying Metro fares in DC are required to provide their name and address to law enforcement if stopped or else they could face arrest or a fine of up to $100. 130-unit multifamily project proposed to replace asphalt lot in Friendship Heights
A developer has proposed a four- to six-story multifamily building with 130 units at 4201 Garrison Street NW near Wisconsin Avenue in Friendship Heights. Arlington County Board considers purchase of vacant Columbia Pike home to improve pedestrian safety
The Arlington County Board is weighing whether to purchase a vacant home at the intersection of S. Rolfe Street and Columbia Pike in order to realign the intersection to feature one, rather that two, traffic signals and add a pedestrian crossing.
