MoCo Fire and Rescue warn of electric bike and scooter related fire hazards

Montgomery County fire department officials are raising awareness about the fire hazard related to the charging of personal mobility devices like electric bikes and scooters in homes without the proper wiring. Report finds economic benefits of agriculture pollution reduction in Chesapeake Bay watershed

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation found that every dollar spent on agricultural conservation in the Chesapeake Bay watershed leads to a $1.75 return through higher sales of goods and services and earnings.   (Charlie Paullin / Maryland Matters)  

DC Council considers bill to create smaller residential parking zones

Councilmembers Brooke Pinto and Christina Henderson introduced a proposal to use Advisory Neighborhood Commission boundaries for zones, while others argue for other boundaries or keeping them tied to wards. The District Department of Transportation recommended other options, like a new system to charge non-permit holders in high-demand areas.  (Martin Austermuhle / DCist)  

Arlington County Board shifts draft zoning changes after community input

The Arlington County Board has incorporated some community concerns in its recent draft of zoning changes to allow for missing middle housing types. Fairfax will get new bus service to Silver Line Phase II stations

The Fairfax Connector plans to open new bus service to Herndon, Reston Town Center, and Innovation Center Metro stations on November 15, in coordination with the Metrorail Silver Line station openings. There will be four new routes.  (Fatimah Waseem / FFXNow)
