Have you ever wondered what DC would be like if we left cars and reclaimed the road for pedestrians, cyclists, and scooter-riders? This Saturday, October 5, from 10 am to 2 pm, three miles of Georgia Avenue NW will be closed to cars, allowing people to enjoy this public space in a new way.

Open Streets hopes to inspire people to think differently about their cities by encouraging physical activity, creating recreational opportunities, and fostering community and education. The event also includes fitness classes, a kids’ traffic garden, informational tables from a range of local organizations and businesses, and more. Find more information here.
