Moving day at the GGWash office

Forgive the mess: GGWash is kicking off 2024 with a slightly larger office. A few weeks ago, our staff packed up 15 years of stuff and carted it down the hall to our new space.

Since 2022, we’ve been in the WeWork in Navy Yard, one block from Nationals Park. (Old heads will remember that the first GGWash office, from 2015 to 2020, was in a now-defunct WeWork at 15th & G NW.) As a hybrid work environment, we only needed a couple of desks, since staff aren’t always here at the same time. But by the fall of 2023, our space–consisting of two desks, two bookcases, important files, event supplies, a portable speaker that mostly works, and on occasion my dog–started to feel a little snug.

TFW you finally have everything moved in!!! Photo by Dan Reed.

Our new space has three desks, a little table for two more people, and additional storage for everything, including our candy corn stash. I even made a Sketchup model of our new office to make sure we had room for everything! I’m stoked to have more wall space to display the maps and posters we’ve collected over the years. Much to our surprise, we’re also in a slightly sunnier part of the building, as our executive director Chelsea Allinger noticed late one afternoon.

Our address remains the same, but we look forward to having a little more space to spread out and meet when we’re all in the office!
