Metro improves service on 3 lines during peak hours
Starting today, trains on Metro’s Blue, Orange, and Blue Plus lines will run every 12 minutes instead of 15 minutes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between the hours of 6 to 9 AM and 3 to 7 PM. Improvements to Red Line service are also planned for later this month. (Gina Cook / NBC4)
DC neighborhoods change as the city sees large growth in white population

Following Maryland State Senator Ben Kramer’s introduction of two contentious bills to shift power over planning processes from the Montgomery County Council to the county’s executive branch, a compromise has been reached. The Washington-area House delegation is advancing, with amendments, a bill that posits to increase transparency in planning, and endorsed the creation of a workgroup to evaluate development review processes. Arlington land development permits mostly now online
Permit Arlington, the county’s new land development permit system, will get the final batch of permits loaded by the end of the month.
