Photo Friday: The return!

Crystal City by Elvert Barnes used with permission.

Years ago, GGWash published a weekly post most Fridays showcasing photos from the Greater and Lesser Washington Flickr pool. It was a fun way to celebrate the joy, dread, beauty, and pure interestingness of urbanism in greater Washington. It was also a handy way to remind readers that GGWash relies on the Flickr pool for many of the wonderful photos that grace the top of blog posts.

All of that’s still true, so it’s back, baby!

Starting today, this will become a weekly feature again. All photos posted to the Flickr pool are eligible, and anyone with a Flickr account can post to the pool. You can also share via Instagram using #ggwash. If you have other ideas for sharing, drop a comment describing it!

Photos should focus on urbanism-related subjects like streets, buildings, public spaces, and people using them. That photo you took of a butterfly in the arboretum is lovely, but off-topic.

In the meantime, enjoy this inaugural edition of Photo Friday 2.0!
