Metro operators jam the system
Some Metro train operators were turning off emergency intercoms to stop “nuisance” noise from interference by new digital radios. WMATA acknowledged it’s known about this since 2009. (Post)

After a two year delay thanks to faulty concrete, the Silver Spring Transit Center, County Executive Leggett has announced that repairs should begin in the next few days. (Gazette)

Barry gets a fine
The DC Board of Ethics and Government Accountability censured and fined Marion Barry $13,600 for taking gifts from city contractors. This is the first fine that the new ethics board has given out. (Post)
