Then and Now: Reservation 151

Then (left): Reservation 151 at the intersection of M Street and Rhode Island Ave., NW, just east of Connecticut. Photographed on June 8, 1927, this area was still a residential neighborhood. In the reserve is the Nuns of the Battlefield Memorial, which had been erected three years before.

Now (right): The memorial is still there, but the rest of the neighborhood has a distinctly commercial bent. Learn a little more about the memorial or see more images here.
