WMATA is facing an unprecedented $750 million budget shortfall this coming year, and is proposing a $4.5 billion capital and operating budget proposal to prepare for a worst-case scenario. Throughout the week, WMATA will be hosting open houses followed by public hearings to discuss the FY2025 capital and operating budgets throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Learn more here.

Saturday, March 2:
Help restore a hidden gem: Get ready to exercise and spend time in nature with Ward 8 Woods Conservancy to help clean up the woods of Suitland Parkway. On the first Saturday of each month, Ward 8 Woods Conservancy sets out in different areas of the surrounding DC area to remove trash and cut vines along the Parkway.
