Regional agencies will receive funds to create more walkable communities
The National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board approved $630,000 in grant funding for 11 transportation-related projects that will help create walkable communities throughout the DC region. Army plane toward Nationals Park triggered evacuation at Capitol
Six members of the Army’s Golden Knights were headed to a pregame ceremony at the ballpark, where they planned to parachute out of the plane. New concourse approved at Dulles Airport
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board approved the plan for a new concourse at Dulles Airport with a scheduled opening in 2026. Roosevelt Bridge could reopen lanes soon
DDOT has announced that the section of the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge that closed for emergency repairs in February will reopen in June. DC rents increased by 12% in March
In DC, rent increased by 12% compared to last year, with the average asking rent being $2,595 a month, according to a Redfin report. Meanwhile, the median monthly apartment rent in the US reached a record high last month with the biggest price jumps in Portland, OR (+40%) and Austin, TX (+38%). (Urban Turf)
Details of Beltway Accord remain private
The Maryland State Highway Administration and the Virginia Department of Transportation are keeping the details of its historic Capital Beltway renovation project under wraps, stating that the agreement to rebuild the American Legion Bridge is still a work in progress.
