Some in the region still haven’t received unemployment benefits
More than a half-million people throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia were receiving benefits as of August 1. However many people, for a variety of reasons, have not received their unemployment, or their benefits have been significantly delayed. Protesters gather in DC to march for Jacob Blake
Protesters gathered in DC to rally against the shooting of Jacob Blake, who was shot by police on Sunday in Kenosha, Wisconsin. By Monday evening about 200 people had gathered at Columbia Heights Civic Plaza. Nationals ballpark will become a polling place

A moratorium on utility cut-offs in VA will be extended

Redevelopment of Fox headquarters moves ahead
Plans were filed by Valor Development for the redevelopment of the Fox headquarters in Friendship Heights, in DC. School reopenings leave MoCo officials discontented
Dr. Travis Gayles, Montgomery County Chief Health Officer, recently rescinded his order that would have prohibited the schools from holding face-to-face instruction until at least October.
