Fairfax County is spending more on affordable housing

Greenleaf Gardens public housing is slated for redevelopment
The DC Housing Authority issued an RFP to redevelop the ramshackle public housing complex. The future Greenleaf Gardens could contain a mix of public and market rate housing, but must have at least 493 units of affordable housing renting to people making 30% to 80% of area median income. Montgomery County rejects a 9% raise for union members

Two Dems are battling to lead the Maryland House after the Speaker’s death
Maggie McIntosh, a liberal from Baltimore and Dereck Davis, a moderate from Prince George's County are vying for speakership of the Maryland House. The vote Wednesday afternoon will be historic.
