The Blue and Yellow lines will close south of National Airport this summer
From May 25 through September 2, 2019, Blue and Yellow Metrorail lines south of National Airport will be closed for track work. The closure will affect the Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street, Huntington, Eisenhower Avenue, King Street, and Braddock Road stations. 717 housing units are proposed for the Westfield Montgomery Mall
Anticipating the closure of Sears, the mall's owner plans on using that site to build a mixed-use, five-story building with 369 residences, including 56 moderately-priced housing units. An injured Prince William County jogger may have been struck by a driver
An 18-year-old jogger found in a rocky embankment on the side of Lake Jackson Drive sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. Police believe he was struck by a driver of an unknown vehicle between 4:45 pm and 5:24 pm. (Post / Martin Weil)
DC, Arlington, and Alexandria schools will recognize non-binary students
This year students at Arlington Public Schools can identify their gender as male, female, or X. Next year, students as DC Public Schools can choose non-binary as a gender option on forms, and Alexandria City Public Schools will add a space for preferred name and gender identity in the District’s online form. The White House moves a signing event from Baltimore to the White House
