What would you like to see on GGE?

Greater Greater Education has been live for a little over two weeks. Articles have thus far focused on a variety of topics that interest our contributors:

• School closings (what it means for students and buildings);
• Truancy (approaches, causes, and solutions);
• The budget (format and librarian funding);
• Pre-K (successes and questions);
• Open data (why it’s important, who’s working on it, and what they created);
• The southeast-northwest divide (in lotteries and application-only schools);
• Nonprofit support like Raise DC, and more.

Are there other subjects you would like to see? Do you want more about an existing subject? Are the articles too long or not detailed enough, too wonkish or not enough?

Also, do you want to be a contributor? We’re interested in a wide range of subjects from helping people understand basic but non-obvious concepts (some commenters asked what these “accountability categories” are anyway; let’s explain!) to the policies that will make schools better for everyone.

Our traffic has been growing rapidly, and articles have been starting to draw an interesting diversity of comments as we build the kind of community of engaged parents, policymakers, and other residents we have for Greater Greater Washington.
