There are, famously, more bikes than people in the Netherlands. The film Together We Cycle “investigates the critical events that led to the revival of the Dutch cycling culture,” and addresses the social and political factors that have shaped how transportation, including biking, works in the Netherlands since the 1970s.

Join Greater Greater Washington and the Dutch Cycling Embassy for a screening of Together We Cycle, which documents the trajectory of the Netherlands’ built environment from car- to cycling-centric. Following the screening there will be a Q&A moderated by the Dutch Cycling Embassy’s Shelley Bontje with Emily Thomason, Lucas Snaije, Dick van Veen, and Alex Baca. This event is graciously hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Learn more about the film here and register to attend the screening and networking event on Wednesday here. Registration will close at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, March 29.

Share your thoughts on the Little Falls Parkway Pilot Project: Montgomery Parks launched the Little Falls Parkway pilot project in June of 2022 to address concerns with cut-through traffic in adjacent neighborhoods associated with the weekend closures of Little Falls Parkway while retaining space for recreation on the parkway. As part of the pilot, Montgomery Parks initiated a traffic study to determine whether two lanes between Dorset Avenue and Arlington Road could adequately accommodate vehicle traffic.

This Thursday, Montgomery Parks, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, will host a public briefing to present traffic data followed by a public hearing in which the public will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments.
