Virtual meeting with GGWash staff. by Chelsea Allinger used with permission.

Do you share our vision for a Washington region that grows equitably and sustainably, with homes for both long-term residents and new arrivals? Do you want to lead the development of GGWash’s regional policy agenda? Do you think about housing, land use, and transportation like your peers think about…whatever normal people think about? Do you want to work with our terrific team?

If so, then you might be the person to fill a new role at GGWash: Regional Policy Director! Or, maybe it’s someone you know.

If you’ve followed GGWash’s story over the last year, you’ve seen that we’re working hard to strengthen our capacity as an organization so that we can achieve the vision of a growing, interconnected Greater Washington region that is racially, economically, and environmentally just. To that end, we’re excited to expand our team to include a Regional Policy Director.

The Regional Policy Director will report to the Deputy Executive Director (that’s me), and work closely with our DC Policy Director and the rest of our policy team. Focused primarily on housing and land use in Maryland, this person will play a lead role in shaping how GGWash’s regional policy work evolves in the coming years. They will develop our local and state policy agenda in Maryland, build and strengthen relationships with local and regional stakeholders, organize diverse people who are interested in housing issues in the region to ensure their voices are heard, and run our regional endorsements process.

Whew, that’s a lot! There’s even more in the detailed job description, so if your appetite is whetted, click here to find out more!

Not you? Send the posting around to people you know who might be interested. The closing date is Friday, February 18, 2022, at noon.
