Last year, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) piloted priority bus lanes along Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE as part of DC’s COVID-19 response and recovery. Now DDOT is hosting a public meeting to discuss its findings and feedback about the pilot program, and talk about other ways to improve safety and transit along the corridor from Good Hope Road SE to St. Elizabeths East Campus.

Goodbye POW! WOW! – hello DC Walls: The District’s annual mural festival is back for its sixth year, but now with a new name. The 10-day event formerly known as POW! WOW!, is now DC Walls, and will feature 17 artists from DC and around the world. The festival, sponsored by the NoMa Business Improvement District (BID) runs from September 8 - 18. A driveable or walkable community?: The Action Committee for Transit (ACT) is hosting a discussion about the big choice many communities have to face: whether to embrace cars or walking. The guest speaker will be Tristan Cleveland, a community designer, Ph.D. researcher, and writer. This event will be from 7:30 to 9 am. Register here.

What the heck is public interest technology?: Learn how some folks are blending big data and inclusive community input, into a new field called public interest technology.
