Three pedestrians died over the long weekend in Fairfax and Prince George’s
On Friday night, a pedestrian in Prince George’s County was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Martin Luther King Jr. Highway. On Sunday evening, Fesha Girma was fatally struck by a driver in Fairfax County while crossing Burke Centre Parkway. On Monday, a woman was struck and killed on the Beltway. Metro officials say fare evasion is costing millions
Metro is reportedly losing $40 million a year due to fare evasions. Fare evasion was decriminalized in the District earlier this year but remains illegal in Maryland and Virginia. Opponents of criminalizing fare evasion have argued that fare evasion enforcement disproportionately impacts black people. (WJLA)
Montgomery County Council pledges to increase housing

A boil water advisory is lifted
