The Metro map is so iconic, people replicate it in all sorts of places. Like a Halloween costume, a jack-o'-lantern, or holiday cookies. On the more directly train-related front, Charles Duan and his 5-year-old son built the Metro map out of wooden trains.

There are even trains matching each line color on the line, though he had to use some Chicago CTA and CSX trains. Maybe this is a product idea for the M Shop — a wooden train set with the right tracks to make the Metro system, and a wooden car of each color?

The official set could avoid the problem Duan ran into, where official Metro Silver Line trains were too high for the bridges they had.

Speaking of the costume and pumpkin, Halloween is coming up again. If you do anything cleverly transit-related (bus too!), for that holiday or any other occasion, let us know.
