This Tuesday, December 19, join GGWash contributors and readers at 6 pm for our last happy hour of the year! There will be drinks, snacks, and conversation at Franklin Hall, located at 1348 Florida Avenue NW. This beer hall, located in the historic Manhattan Laundry building, is known for its half-smokes and industrial decor.

To get there, you can take the Green or Yellow lines to the U Street Metro station, which is four blocks away. Metrobus routes S2/S4/S9 stop two blocks away on 16th Street, the 52/53/54 stop at the corner of 14th and Florida, the 64 stops at 11th and Florida, and the 90/92/96 and 14th Street Circulator stop three blocks away on U Street. There are also Capital Bikeshares stations at 14th and V and at 15th and Florida.

If you plan to come, please RSVP here!

This year, we've held happy hours in Edgewood, Crystal City, Silver Spring, and Shaw. We’re always looking for new, Metro-accessible locations for future happy hours. Where would you like us to go next?

Saturday, December 23: Curious about the history of Anacostia? Join local historian and author John Muller for a walking tour to explore the history, homes, churches, and sights, and learn stories about Frederick Douglass's life.
