Who will pay for transit?: We hope you come to our party, but if you can’t, head over to this month’s Action Committee for Transit meeting with Jason Jordan, the Director of the Center for Transportation Excellence, to discuss this question: Are voters willing to pay for transit? The meeting is this Tuesday, March 8. It starts at 7:30 pm at the Silver Spring Civic Center, which is at One Veterans Place.

Widening Route 7: Route 7 over the Dulles Toll Road in Fairfax County could grow from four to six lanes. Learn about the project and share your opinions at a public meeting this Wednesday, March 9, at 6 pm at 1400 Trap Road in Vienna.

Bikeways at 15th and L: The bikeways at both 15th and L Streets NW are currently doubling as sidewalks. The developers working to turn the former Washington Post building into the Fannie Mae headquarters are holding a meeting to discuss overall next steps after demolition is complete, and how they’ll handle bike and pedestrian traffic is a key issue. The meeting is on Thursday, March 10, from 7 — 9 pm, at 1177 15th Street NW.

Economics of parks: There has long been link between a parks and green space and health, but did you know parks can also be economically beneficial to a community? Learn about the economic impacts of local and regional parks and at the next Tuesdays at APA next Tuesday, March 15, at 5:30 pm at 1030 15th St NW in Suite 750 West.

Mutil-modal suburbia: The Montgomery County Planning Department is holding a speaker series focusing on new ideas in transit. At the third and final session, Jeffery Tumlin of San Francisco-based Nelson/Nygaard, will talk about how to best utilize multi-modal development in suburban environments. Catch the talk next Wednesday, March 16, at 6 pm at 8787 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.
