Don’t let your thoughts go unheard! Attend one of several meetings to plan transit in Arlington or a zoning meeting in Prince George’s County, or chime in on how to shape Cheverly. Help come up with a creative solution to make walking safer, or commemorate a local landmark.

Arlington bus plan: Arlington is developing a 10-year plan to improve bus service in the county, especially along Columbia Pike and Crystal City. Share you thoughts on the plan at one of five open houses, three being this week. On Tuesday, October 27, there is one from 2 pm to 4 pm and one from 6 pm to 8 pm at 2100 Clarendon Boulevard. On Thursday, October 29, the meeting is from 7 pm to 9 pm at 735 18th St. S.

After the jump: Prince George’s zoning, Cheverly plan, a Vision Zero hack, and Georgetown’s Exorcist steps.

Prince George’s Zoning: Prince George’s County is updating its zoning regulations to be easier to understand and to create a better climate for economic growth. Join the Planning Department and the consultant team from Clarion Associates to view the first draft and share your opinion at one of three meetings this week, all at 7 pm- Tuesday, October 27 at 7007 Bock Road in Fort Washington, Wednesday, October 18, at 8001 Sheriff Road in Landover, and Thursday, October 29, at 7120 Contee Road in Laurel.

Greater greater Cheverly: A new sector plan for greater Cheverly in Maryland will address land use, economic growth, environmental protection, healthy communities, and more. Share you thoughts on these improvements at a community meeting from 7 pm to 9 pm on Wednesday, October 28, at 4200 57th Ave in Bladensburg.

Hacking Vision Zero: HackShopDC, a meetup group for civic hacking, will holds its first meeting this Thursday, October 29, with representative from DDOT to discuss creative solutions to tackle transportation related pedestrian deaths and Vision Zero. Join the fun at 6 pm in Suite 200 of 1150 17th Street NW.

“Exorcist steps” become official: The Exorcist steps in Georgetown are a heavily-used but under-acknowledged local landmark. Join screenwriter William Peter Blatty, Andrew Huff, Mayor Murial Bowser, and Ward 2 Councilmember Jack Evans this Friday, October 30, to officially commemorate the spot (3600 Prospect Street NW). Blatty will arrive at 4 pm for a meet and greet and the official plaque unveiling will be held at 6 pm.
