Metrobus in MoCo: Head over to this month’s Action Committee for Transit meeting with Jim Hamre, WMATA’s Director of Bus Planning, to learn about the challenges and future of Metrobus in Montgomery County and beyond. The meeting is on Tuesday, October 13. It starts at 7:30 pm at the Silver Sparing Civic Center, One Veterans Place.

Bus pop-ups: Do you want to see bus lanes on 16th Street? Share your thoughts on the draft changes to the S bus lines at one of three different pop-up style events on 16th Street this week. On Wednesday, October 14, the pop-up event is at 16th and L St at 4 pm. On Thursday, October 15, it is at 16th and U St at 5:30 pm, and on Saturday, October 17, the event is at 16th and Irving at 12 pm.

Potomac Yard tour: With the DC region’s first BRT line, a future Metro station, and new transit-oriented development in the pipeline, Alexandria’s Potomac Yard is changing quickly. Join APA Virginia, Young Professionals in Transportation DC Chapter, and the Coalition for Smarter Growth for a special walking tour of the area. One group will get a broadly-focused tour and another group will take a more technical look at the BRT system. RSVP is required.

Hard hat tour: Tenley View, a new mixed-use development in Tenleytown, is the first new residential construction project in DC to gain approval with no parking. Join Ward3Vision and Douglas Development to get the inside scoop at a special hard-hat tour of the project on Saturday, October 17, at 2 pm at 4600 Wisconsin Ave NW.
